How to play Powder Day
Powder Day runs in your browser. Pick a mode, drop in, and ride. Here is everything you need to know about the controls.
Keyboard
| ← → or A D | Carve left and right. In the air, hold a direction to spin. |
| ↑ ↓ or W S | Speed up or slow down. Hold ↓ for a hockey stop. In the air, flip forward or back. |
| Space | Hold to crouch and load your pop, release to jump. Hold it in the air to grab. |
| V | Switch grab on the snow, grab in the air. |
| Shift | Tuck for top speed. |
| C · N · M · Esc | Camera view · day, golden hour or night · sound · pause. |
All keys can be changed in Settings → Controls.
Phone and tablet
Turn on touch controls in Settings. The stick carves and sets your pace, and the buttons jump, tuck and grab. Play in landscape for the best view. Phones can add Powder Day to the home screen.
Game controller
Plug in or pair a standard controller. The left stick or d-pad carves and sets your pace, A jumps (hold it in the air to grab), X grabs, B brakes, the right trigger tucks, the bumpers switch grabs and Start pauses.
Modes
- Free: an endless mountain with powder, trees, cornices and chairlifts. Thread close to the trees for a speed boost.
- Trick: Slopestyle, Big Air and the Superpipe. Link tricks into combos and chase medal scores.
- Race: three courses against four rivals and your own ghost, with splits and medal times.
Settings worth knowing
- Difficulty: Easy has landing help and no crashes, Medium has landing help and crashes, Hard has neither.
- Stance: Regular (left foot forward) or Goofy (right foot forward).
- Soundtrack: Charge for energetic music, Calm for a soft mountain pad.
