Play Powder Day on your phone or tablet
Powder Day runs in your phone or tablet's web browser with on-screen touch controls. There is nothing to download from an app store.
Getting started
- Open ridepowderday.com in a recent version of Safari, Chrome, Edge or Firefox. The game needs WebGL 2, which current phone browsers support.
- Touch controls switch on automatically on touch screens. You can turn them on or off in Settings → Controls.
- Turn your phone sideways. Landscape gives you the widest view of the slope, though portrait works too.
- The first load downloads the mountain, so Wi-Fi helps. Later visits start faster.
Touch controls
| Stick | Drag left or right to carve. Push up to speed up, pull down to slow down. Hold it through takeoff to spin left or right, or flip forward or back. |
| Jump | Hold to crouch and load your pop, release to jump. |
| Grab | Hold in the air to grab, release to let go. |
| Tuck | Hold for top speed. |
Left-handed? Set Joystick side to Right to put the stick on the right and Jump on the left. Vibration adds short pulses on landings, rails, crashes and medals.
Add it to your home screen
Powder Day can be installed like an app and opens full screen from its own icon.
- iPhone and iPad: in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Android: in Chrome, open the menu and tap Add to Home screen or Install app.
If you stay in the browser, the Full screen button hides the browser bars while you ride.
Smooth play and battery
- Graphics: Auto keeps the ride smooth by adjusting quality for your device. Low is fastest, Balanced is sharp and smooth, High needs a strong GPU.
- High refresh rate runs above 60 fps on high-refresh screens, but uses more battery. Leave it off for longer sessions.
- Steadier camera cuts shake and sway, and also mutes vibration.
- Minimal HUD shows speed only, which frees up space on small screens.

Phone questions
Is there a Powder Day app?
There is no app store download. You play in the browser, and you can add Powder Day to your home screen so it opens full screen like an app.
Why does Powder Day say my browser cannot run 3D graphics?
The game needs WebGL 2. Update your browser, or try the latest Safari or Chrome with hardware acceleration on.
Does Powder Day work on a tablet?
Yes. Tablets use the same touch controls as phones, and a paired game controller works as well.
